The SimMed Project at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin

From my point of view, using Mixed and Augmented Reality to enhance learning environments is an excellent idea. In this case, a virtual child is positioned virtually on a multi touch table top display to simulate a treatment table at a doctor’s office or hospital. The system is able to imitate various diseases that have been assessed by medical students to learn how to deal with diagnostic tasks in a team oriented working environment.

Get further product information at the website of Archimedes Exhibitions GmbH and the website of Charite, Berlin. One may think of augmenting this user interface by a haptic device as proposed in one of my earlier articles.
